Edinburgh Food Project operates 7 Food Banks across North-West, Central & East Edinburgh. As well as providing food parcels we also have two other foundations to our work – Our More Than Food Project offers a range of support to people including housing and employment, while our Money Advice Service offers free confidential benefits, budgeting, and debt advice. Our ambition is to move those needing our support through this difficult period and help them out of poverty. In September 2022, we provided 1059 meals to those who accessed our services.
As well as receiving these meals, those we support also had full access to our other services which aim to help improve the lives of those living in poverty in Edinburgh.
Our Christmas Appeal for 2022 is to ask those who want to support their fellow Edinburgh citizens to donate a one-off gift of £10. This will be used to help provide food parcels, money advice & more than food to the hundreds of people who attend our 7 foodbanks each week.
In addition, we are also looking for 100 people to sign up to donate £10 monthly, and 100 Edinburgh Businesses to commit to raising £1000 for Edinburgh Food Project during 2023.
By supporting us with a one-off donation you will be helping us achieve our mission to provide emergency food supplies and support to people in crisis. And those committing their support throughout 2023 will enable us to work with people, communities, and our partner agencies to address the underlying causes of food poverty.
