Take on Edinburgh’s ultimate urban adventure – a little over 14 miles with more than 2,200 feet of climbing and descending across the city’s iconic seven hills. Tough, unforgettable, and packed with incredible views, this is a challenge that will test your legs, and determination from start to finish.
Every step you take helps provide food, dignity, and support to people across Edinburgh who need it most.
By taking on the challenge and raising £70, you’re helping keep seven doors open each week, our foodbanks are where crisis is met with dignity.

What’s the Challenge?
Take on Edinburgh’s iconic Seven Hills in one epic circular route.
- Start & finish: Calton Hill
- Hills include:
- Arthur’s Seat
- Blackford Hill
- Craiglockhart Hill
- Corstorphine Hill
- Braid Hill
- Castle Rock
- Target time: ~7 hours (go at your own pace)
This will be a guided/led walk. Do it your way, walk with the team or take on the challenge with friends and family.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, there will be a qualified first aider supporting the challenge throughout the day.
This is a led walking challenge rather than a race, so there will not be official water stations along the route. Please bring enough water for the day, and feel free to make any water stops when needed throughout the route.
There will be no event toilets on the route but everyone is encouraged to take breaks as and when required. There will be limited public toilets on route.
This is a guided group challenge, so participants will walk together with the event leaders. Nobody will be left behind, and we’ll keep a steady, supportive pace throughout the day.
We recommend bringing:
- A refillable water bottle
- Snacks or lunch for the day
- Comfortable walking shoes or boots
- Waterproof jacket and layers
- Sun cream and hat (if sunny)
- Fully charged mobile phone
- Any personal medication you may need
We encourage everyone to aim for the fundraising target (£70), as every pound raised helps support people facing food insecurity across Edinburgh. Don’t worry if you don’t quite reach your goal, we’ll support you with fundraising ideas and tips along the way.
