2021 has proved to be another difficult year for families finding themselves in food poverty, through no fault of their own. COVID19 continued to impact on people in poverty most of all. In October, the £20 uplift to Universal Credit was removed and the financial support to people furloughed ended. Energy prices have also increased significantly. It will be a hard Christmas for many this year.
Our foodbank centres will be open right through the Christmas period. Our volunteers will be there to offer a warm welcome to the people who need our help. We’ll provide people with emergency food, a hot drink and a listening ear. Our Money Advice Service will only be a phone call away to offer practical advice. None of this would be possible without your support.
Please consider supporting Edinburgh Food Project this Christmas.
Thank you to everyone who has donated, will donate and have encouraged others to donate.
We quite simply would not be able to help so many people, living in crisis, if it was not for the generosity and kindness of all of our donors.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Best Wishes,
Bethany Biggar
